Dating back to the 14th Century, the farmhouse is set in lovely grounds, with apple orchard and lawn to the front of the house. Beyond the lawn is a beautiful old barn, dating back to the mid 1500s, and which was recently restored with a grant from English Heritage. The farm is located next to the church, from which the sound of bells adds to the sense of peace and relaxation to be found here. In its heyday, the farm worked a herd of 25 dairy cattle, as well as rearing pigs and chickens. Sadly most of this has now gone, although beef cattle are still reared on the surrounding 80 acres of land. Mrs Christine Hayes has retained a very traditional welcome to the farm, with 7 comfortable rooms (all ensuite) and hearty breakfasts to start your day. One room is on the ground floor for those requiring wheelchair access. Tea and coffee is provided in all rooms. Ample parking is provided beside the farmhouse Children and pets are welcome - please let us know your requirements when you book. Cots and highchairs are available for the very young. The farm is open throughout the year, apart from Christmas and the month of January. Rooms are available at a cost of £30 per person per night, which includes full English breakfast. A deposit of £20 per room is required when booking. We will do all we can to make your stay with us an enjoyable one, and will be pleased to help you plan days out, and places to visit. |
